Identical to the TRK (ceramic) drip filter, except uses the new Gravidyn combination ceramic and carbon filter elements ( three filter elements per unit). Works on gravity pressure from upper compartment; no hookup required. Raw water is filled on top with up to 2-1/2 gallons of untreated water and slowly drips through the three elements into the bottom container. Flow rate of approximately 1.0 gallons per hour. Katadyn no longer offers the under sink design filter for sale in North America.  B & A will assemble the filter from new genuine Katadyn aftermarket parts, which remain available to us for sale. Therefore, we still offer the under sink filter model equivalent to the Katadyn HFSK, assembled from aftermarket Parts as our product # 1146..

 

The Katadyn (HFSK) ( #1146) is designed to be installed in the piping in an under the sink application. Like manyl Katadyn products, it incorproates a repalceable microporous ceramic filter than protects against all forms of bacteria and anything bigger than 0.2 micron. The Standard one element version can be installed in any position. Size: height is 13" x width of 4-3/4". Output is up to 5 pints per minute depending on the water pressure available.

 

The assembled  product includes one standard Superdyn Carbon Ceramic Filter element( #1143) installed.   The replaceable element's estimated life is 6 to 9 months under normal use. The element will filter water for to improved taste and odor, and will effectively remove Chrolorine and all kinds of bacteria & Protozoa, Heavy Metals Chemicals and Rust.

The newest Katadyn Water Filter, the Vario is the first water filter that is adjustable for different water conditions.  The Vario combines the two leading water filtering technologies, ceramic filter and pleated glassfiber filter, and allows you to select the filtering mode to best suit the water you're treating.

 

In the "longer life" mode, water passes through all three filter elements, i.e.

pleated glass fibre, ceramic and charcoal cores, at flow rate of 1 liter per minute. The longer life mode extends the life of the  filter elements, but reduces the flow rate. However, using all the elemets including the ceramic allows you to effectively filter water with more difficult conditions such as cloudy water with solids content.  The ceramic traps silt and particles and can be cleaned periodically to remove the trappped solids.  

 

In the " Faster Flow" mode, the ceramic filter element is bypassed, allowing filtration by the pleated fiber element at a faster flow rate of 2 liters per minute.

In both modes, the water passes through the Carbon Core, which removes chemicals and addresses taste and odor issues. 

 

All three filter elements are replaceable and may be ordered seperately.
