Byron R. Kirkwood   
Kirkwood, BYRON R. 56, Businessman, Published Author and CoAuthor, passed away Friday, September 20, 2002 in Tulsa, Okla. Funeral: 11:30 AM, Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home, in Fort Worth. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Byron was born in Dallas, graduated from J.F. Kimball High School and obtained his EMBA from SMU and lived in Dallas for many years before moving to Bunch, OK. He was a volunteer Firefighter and treasurer of the HWY 100 VFD, also was past president of Adair County Firefighters Association, an amateur radio operator and a Boy Scout for many years. He helped build the computer networking industry as it is known today. Survivors: Byron will be deeply missed by his wife, of 17 years, Annie; mother, Dorothy Kirkwood; sons, Brian Kirkwood and wife, Stephanie, Edward Kirkwood and wife, Donna, Mark Ortega, David Ortega and wife, Felicia, and James Ortega and wife, Amy; brothers, Victor Kirkwood and wife, Elaine, and Wayne Kirkwood and wife, Tricia; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
